Common fixes
The crosshair doesn't show up in my game
Most of the time, the issue comes down to how your game is set up for display. Exclusive fullscreen grabs control of the entire screen, which prevents anything else from appearing over it. You can fix this by switching your video settings to Fullscreen Borderless or Windowed. Go ahead and click the tray icon to ensure your crosshair is active. If you have selected Only show while my game is in front, verify that your game window is actually the one on top.
A keyboard shortcut won't save or does nothing
Shortcuts in DOT Crosshair operate system-wide across Windows. Because of this, just one application can control any specific key combo at a given moment. If you cannot save a shortcut or it fails to trigger, the issue is likely that another piece of software has already claimed that input. Common culprits include Discord, screen recording utilities, or overlays from your graphics drivers. Try selecting a different key combination to resolve the conflict. You can use function keys by themselves, with F12 being the only exception since Windows holds a reservation on it. For every other key, you must pair it with either Ctrl or Alt. Also remember that once a key is assigned to DOT Crosshair, your game will no longer detect it.
It's on the wrong monitor or slightly off center
Open your settings menu and select the monitor where you play if the crosshair appears on the wrong screen. Use the adjustment tools to position it correctly if it is offset by a pixel or two from the game's center.
It disappears when I aim
If your crosshair disappears during aim, look at the Hide while aiming down sights option. This feature is disabled by default. Keep it off to ensure the crosshair remains visible whenever you hold down the right mouse button.
Where are my settings kept?
All your settings and a brief log file stay right on your PC. The system never transmits data automatically, so when support requests the log, you have full control over whether to include it in an email.
