Privacy Policy
Effective October 29, 2026
This policy covers the DOT Crosshair app for Windows and the website at dotcrosshair.com. Both are provided by Mako Logics LLC ("we", "us"). The short version: the app collects nothing, and the website collects only anonymous traffic, download and performance statistics.
The DOT Crosshair app
- The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no telemetry and no analytics.
- The app does not send any information about you, your PC or your games to us or to anyone else. Its only network activity is the update check described below.
- Your crosshair settings and a small log file (which records only when the app starts, stops or hits an error) are stored locally on your PC. They stay there unless you choose to send them to us, for example by attaching the log to a support email.
- To switch to a game-specific setup, and for the "only show while my game is in front" option, the app checks the program name of the window that is in front. That check happens on your PC, and the result is not stored or sent anywhere.
- The app does not read the screen, game memory or your keystrokes. Its keyboard shortcuts are registered with Windows, which tells the app only when one of your chosen shortcuts is pressed.
Updates
A copy of the app downloaded from this website checks for a newer version once a day by requesting dotcrosshair.com/version.json. That request carries the app's own version number and the information any web request carries, such as your IP address. It carries no account, device identifier, settings or usage information. If you choose "Update now", Windows' App Installer fetches the update through dotcrosshair.com/download/appinstaller, and Windows may also check that address on its own for apps installed this way. We do not use these requests to identify or track you. We do count the daily checks, as a tally per day and app version, so we can see roughly how many copies are in use. That tally stores no IP address and no identifier.
The installer files themselves are hosted on GitHub, so downloading the app or an update is also handled under GitHub's privacy statement.
If you install DOT Crosshair from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles that download and any updates under Microsoft's own privacy statement. We do not receive personal information about you from Microsoft; it gives us only the total number of installs per day.
The dotcrosshair.com website
The website is hosted by Vercel. It uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and Vercel Speed Insights to measure how quickly pages load. According to Vercel, these tools do not use cookies and report aggregate statistics rather than identifying individual visitors. We use them only to understand which pages are read and to keep the site fast.
Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request information, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
When you click a download button, we record that a download happened: the date and time, the app version, whether it was the direct download or the Microsoft Store button, and the country the request came from. Vercel works out the country from your IP address; we never store the IP address itself or anything else that could identify you. We use these counts only to see how many people download DOT Crosshair.
The crosshair builder runs entirely in your browser. The settings you choose there are not sent to us. The "Copy" button copies text to your own clipboard and nowhere else.
We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share personal information.
If you email support@dotcrosshair.com, we use your email address and what you write only to answer you and to fix problems you report. We keep support emails only as long as they are useful for that purpose.
Children
Neither the app nor the website is directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices and rights
Because the app collects nothing, there is no app data held by us to access or delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, or you have a question about your rights under the privacy laws of your U.S. state, write to support@dotcrosshair.com and we will respond.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If the app ever began to collect any data, this page would say so before that version was released.
